Pigmented Lesion Removal
What is Pigmented Lesion Removal?
This procedure removes unwanted pigmented lesions safely using a laser.
Am I a candidate for this procedure?
Individuals with light skin who have not taken accutune in the past 12 to 18 months are the best candidates for this procedure. As with any resurfacing method, individuals with brown, black or olive skin color may have an increased risk for pigmentation changes. What are the benefits of this procedure?
The laser procedure can carefully select a small, specific area of the face, and you can expect less post-operative discomfort than you would with an invasive procedure.
How long does the procedure last?
The procedure lasts 5 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on the depth and size of the pigmented lesion.
How do I prepare for surgery?
To avoid hyperpigmentation, you must not have a tan prior to surgery.
What does surgery involve?
Dr. Bradley will pass the laser beam carefully over the skin until the pigmented lesion is lightened. Several sessions may be necessary to completely remove the lesion.
Will I spend the night in your facility or be released after surgery?
This is usually an outpatient procedure.
When can I return to my normal lifestyle?
After surgery you will need to remain out of the sun for several months to avoid hyperpigmentation of the treated area.
Will I need a follow-up visit?
With every procedure, Dr. Bradley strives to provide personal follow-up visits to monitor your progress and answer any post-operative questions.
